Diné College approached its campus safety challenges using its cultural philosophy of Thinking, Planning, Living, and Reflecting to enrich its campus security and emergency response (CSER) services and development of the sexual assault campus resistance education at Diné College (SACRED). It is using crime statistics to drive program development to increase awareness and empowerment among Diné College students, staff, faculty, and surrounding community members.

According to CAEL’s website, competency-based degree programs focus on what students learn rather than where they learn or how long it takes to learn. Student progress is assessed on their actual demonstration of skills learned as compared to the standard credit hour. AIHEC is exploring this concept on behalf of TCUs.
