​Document Resources for the Student Success Collaborative

 

Student Success: This library section contains articles that provide basic information pertaining to student success interventions at colleges and universities. Descriptive information and rigours studies demonstrate the impact of effective practices in increasing student retention and persistence.

 

Mentor Colleges: Eight Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) served as mentor colleges in this unique model designed to foster student success. Background information about each of these institutions are provided in this section.

 

Mentee/Protege Colleges: Ten Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) were selected to participate in this project as mentee or protege colleges with each assigned to work with a mentor college. These MSIs are described in this section.

 

Issues Addressed and Outcomes: Information pertaining to specific issues that were identified and the outcomes of individual MSIs efforts are shared in this section.

Wisdom Sharing: Student Success Strategies at Tribal Colleges
The American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) in collaboration with two national Minority Serving Organizations has developed a unique mentor/mentee model to foster student success. This initiative has resulted in the identification of strategies that are proving to promote the success of American Indian and other students attending these colleges. A mentor college (the Institute of American Indian Arts) and a mentee college (Sitting Bull College) describe the mentor/mentee relationship developed through this project.
